Who Needs Cable Anyway?

Cable is expensive right, and the service provided with the programming really, in the nicest way possible, sucks.  For this reason, I’ve chopped my cable cord (to my TV at least).  After paying nearly $100 every month for almost a year I realized something.  I was only enjoying one channel.  Maybe if I had a little more disposable income I could afford a grand every year just to watch the discovery channel and occasionally the history channel, but I don’t.

Simple Steps to Better Audio

Everyone deserves better audio, and every music artist deserves your best effort to hear the sound that they created. I know personally my wife gets really upset when I only here half of what she is saying.  I can only assume that musicians and film producers alike are driven crazy by the common acceptance of listening to half of the song or music track they produce.  This is what audio compression has done for us in this digital age of high tech gadgets and portable gizmos; it has cut our experience in half.

The Time Has Come to Bag the Big One!

If you are not part of the 53% of American households that currently own a super cool flat screen TV simply because the mortgage was getting in the way I believe your wait may finally be over!  According to the Wall Street Journal's report the prices on big flat panel TVs are going to be slashed once again this year, but this time they will be nearly half of what the prices were last year.  This makes me very excited.

Prepare Yourself for a Pleasant Surprise

Yesterday I found myself relaxed on the couch.  The kids were napping, and my wife was in the kitchen fixing some wonderful treat for later (muffins or chicken tacos or something… anyway it doesn’t matter). I was there in the living room looking at the TV deciding how to spend the next couple hours.  The Titans were not playing this week and I had already watched the Blu-Ray movies that we rented last week.  I probably could have invested some time into cleaning out the garage, but it was cold in there; and I was feeling very comfortable on the couch.  That is when I did something I probably would have never done about three years ago. I watched a Chinese film from 2008, and it was awesome!

Down With Stupid Manufactures

Ok, this might be a little rant but somebody’s got to say it.  DSC Security has got to be one of the most egocentric and ignorant manufacturing companies I have ever run across.  Do they not realize that we are in a recession and they should be trying to promote the sales of their products instead of pissing people off?

There are Three Kinds of People Out There

So I was at one of those gigantic electronics box stores the other day and I noticed something.  There was about a million big screen high definition 3D compatible televisions hanging on the wall and people wanted to buy them.  It is pretty easy to separate those people into three different categories.  First there’s the guy who wants the newest and the coolest with all the bells and whistles.  That one is pretty easy; it’s on the end cap with the spotlights and disco ball hovering above it.

The True Meaning of Life <-- read this for the answer!

Ok this just happens to be my very first blog post. So maybe it’s not all that exciting, and maybe nobody really cares.  After all who doesn’t have a blog these days? And who would want to read a blog written from an under educated average in almost every way white male with very poor mastery of Grammar and the English language anyway? Well I guess that’s not the point. Is it? You see, I have often found myself entertaining when no one else did.  So maybe this is the perfect outlet for my creativity and passions.  After all, what’s the worst thing that could happen?  No one read it.
Maybe I’ll be internet bullied… then I could have an excuse for my erratic and abnormal behavior.  I’ll just blame it on the 12 year old living 500 miles away who is trying desperately to make himself feel like he’s a man by brow beating and humiliating others.  I don’t think that’s going to work very well with me though.  If I survived growing up with my sister and father I think I can handle a little verbal abuse from a pipsqueak.
