The Time Has Come to Bag the Big One!

If you are not part of the 53% of American households that currently own a super cool flat screen TV simply because the mortgage was getting in the way I believe your wait may finally be over!  According to the Wall Street Journal's report the prices on big flat panel TVs are going to be slashed once again this year, but this time they will be nearly half of what the prices were last year.  This makes me very excited.

TV Bargains Come Early This Year

The only problem now is which one to get. Here is the best advice I can give you... Research, research, research! And again I say research.  I know that it can be a bit overwhelming, but you can take it in baby steps.  First find out what options are available for new TVs (3D,720p, 1080p, HDMI 1.3, 1.4, Contrast Ratio, Refresh Rate, Screen Size, Brightness, etc.) and understand the differences.  Second decide what you are wanting to get out of your TV watching experience. Third, find the TV make and model that best suites your needs.  And once you have zeroed your cross hairs in on the TV you want then you wait.

That's right, you wait and watch it.  Have a price in mind that you would believe is a good value for the TV and watch until it gets close.  When the price does come down to the range you are looking for that's when you jump, with both feet.  When I say jump, that doesn't mean buy, it means jump on the poor sales guy until he gives it to you for at least 10% less (You can probably get more).  Yes even with prices this low they have some wiggle room, and even if they don't they want to move the product out the door.  Some times it's better for them to take a little loss on one TV to make room for a more profitable model.

Buying a new flat screen is a lot like hunting the big one.  You've got to know what you are looking for before you shoot at it.  Don't buy a new TV that you will not be happy with once the price tag has been taken off.
